Community Guidelines

Ziza works because people trust what they see here. These guidelines keep it that way. They apply to everything you post — reviews, photos, verdicts, comments, lists, and your profile. They're part of our Terms of Service, and breaking them can lead to content removal or account suspension.

Be genuine

• First-hand only. Only log verdicts and write reviews for places you've actually visited.
• Disclose comped meals. If the restaurant gave you a free or discounted meal, say so in your review (the app provides a disclosure option where available). It's not a penalty — it's honesty.
• No fake or paid reviews. Don't post reviews in exchange for payment, don't review your own business, and don't trash a competitor. Conflicts of interest must be disclosed.
• One person, one account. Don't use multiple accounts to boost or bury a restaurant.
• Be yourself. Don't impersonate another person, a business, a public figure, or Ziza itself, and don't use a handle, display name, photo, or bio designed to make people think you're someone you're not. Parody and fan accounts must be obvious from the profile itself. Handles are licensed to you, not owned by you — we may reclaim, rename, or reassign one that impersonates or is likely to be confused with someone else.
• Disclose any connection to a restaurant. If you own, work for, are related to someone who does, or have any financial, promotional, or affiliate relationship with a restaurant — including free meals, discounts, gifted items, commissions, or an arrangement to post — say so plainly in the post itself. Disclosure elsewhere, in a bio, or in a previous post doesn't count. This applies to Guides and lists as well as reviews.
• Real photos, real experiences. Photos should be ones you actually took at the place. Don't post AI-generated or materially manipulated images as if they were real, don't use another restaurant's or another person's photos as your own, and don't use AI to write a review of somewhere you haven't been. Ordinary editing — cropping, straightening, brightness — is fine.

Be respectful

• Critique the food, not the person. Honest negative reviews are welcome. Harassment, hate speech, threats, and personal attacks are not.
• Respect privacy. Don't post other people's personal information, and be thoughtful about photographing people without their consent.
• Keep it relevant. Reviews should be about your dining experience — not politics, disputes unrelated to the meal, or events you didn't witness.
• Serious accusations need first-hand experience, and belong with the authorities. Claims about food poisoning, illness, pests, health-code violations, food tampering, theft, assault, or discrimination can end a small business, and once posted they're very hard to undo. Only describe what you personally experienced, say so in those terms ("I got sick after eating here") rather than stating it as established fact about the restaurant, and don't repeat second-hand rumours or something you read elsewhere. If you believe there is a genuine food-safety or public-health problem, report it to your local health department — they can inspect; we can't. We may remove unverified serious accusations, and we may ask you for more detail before deciding.

Keep it clean and legal

• No sexually explicit content, graphic violence, or content that promotes illegal activity.
• No spam, scams, or unauthorized advertising.
• Only post photos and text you have the right to share. Don't upload someone else's work as your own.

Reporting and enforcement

If you see content that breaks these guidelines, use the report option in the app or email [email protected]. We review reports and may remove content, issue warnings, or suspend or terminate accounts at our discretion. We may also remove content for any reason to keep recommendations trustworthy, as described in the Terms of Service.

If we get it wrong — appeals

We're a small team and we will sometimes make the wrong call. If your content was removed or your account was suspended and you think that was a mistake, email [email protected] with "Appeal" in the subject line, along with your username and what was removed. Tell us why you think the decision was wrong — including anything we couldn't have known.

A person will read it and reply. If we were wrong, we'll restore the content or the account and say so.
